Desert Signal has always been about paying attention like that.

The almost forgotten things.
The signals that only appear if you slow down. For years, that practice lived only in the work — in landscapes, posters, prints, and long horizons. But recently, something became clear. The idea wasn’t meant to stay abstract. It wanted to become real.
Milo
Milo was a stray when we found each other.
Or maybe he found me.
Either way, we both landed somewhere safe.
He didn’t just need a home.
I needed him.
Companionship works both ways like that.
Signal sent.
Signal received.
That simple exchange changed my life more than anything else. And once you experience that kind of connection, you start to see it everywhere.
Other dogs.
Other people.
Other quiet signals waiting to be answered.
The realization
One morning it hit me:
What if Desert Signal wasn’t just art?
What if it could actually help create those same connections?
What if the work could do something beyond the wall?
Not louder.
Not bigger.
Just more useful.
So the answer became obvious. Every piece of Desert Signal work should help dogs like Milo find safety, care, and a home.
Not someday.

The Desert Signal Dog Fund
Starting this year, a portion of every Desert Signal piece supports the Desert Signal Dog Fund.
Prints.
Posters.
Paintings.
Future work.
All of it.
The fund helps support rescue, medical care, foster placement, and adoption for overlooked dogs — especially here in Austin, where so many strays from across West Texas eventually land.
Nothing complicated. Nothing corporate.
Just turning art into action.
One dog at a time.
Why
Because the home needs the dog as much as the dog needs the home.
Because companionship saves both sides.
Because what’s lost deserves a way back.
Because art should mean something.
Because sometimes a small signal can change a life.
